By definition, a “Base Camp” is: a main encampment providing supplies, shelter, and communications for persons engaged in wide-ranging activities, such as exploring or mountain climbing.
(Disclaimer: RRRC Basecamp Program is an inpatient facility where actual mountain exploration is not a program offering)
Red Rock Recovery Center’s Base Camp Program is designed to serve as the initial landing for you or your loved one embarking on their recovery journey.
This program offers our inpatient levels of care. These levels of care consist of Medical Detox/ withdrawal management services as well as a Residential Inpatient Treatment Program. Our Mountain campus is a 7 acre property in Colorado’s beautiful front range mountains. The campus features a state of the art mountain lodge with living amenities for 16 patients, a geodesic dome holding 5 patients, as well as onsite gym facilities.
Red Rock is committed to enabling our clients to have the most comfortable and safe setting to start the recovery exploration process. As our clients discover recovery they will transition from Base Camp to our Ascent program consisting of PHP, IOP and structured sober living. Toward the final phase of treatment, clients can settle into our Summit Program at the OP (Outpatient) level of care once completing IOP level of care.
For many people who struggle with substance abuse and addiction, getting clean is the first step in the recovery journey. There’s so much more to recovery than just getting drugs and alcohol out of your system, however. Whether you’re in rehab for the first time, or back in treatment after spending time somewhere else, we take pride in offering a comprehensive experience at every level of our full continuum of care.
Many of our clients need time to adjust to living without addictive substances, and to remember how to lead a life that’s considered “normal”. This often needs to be achieved with the help of intensive treatment, and structured care. That’s where our Denver Inpatient Drug Treatment Program comes in: at Red Rock Recovery Center, we help our clients reclaim their lives from addiction and rediscover how rewarding living sober can be.
What Is the Purpose of Residential Inpatient Treatment?
Inpatient Treatment usually occurs immediately after Detox, and before our PHP and IOP. The latter are focused on helping clients return to life outside of rehab — both by creating a healthy foundation for life in recovery, and then by practicing the life skills that will make that recovery successful.
Residential Treatment, or sometimes called Inpatient Treatment, is focused on transitioning clients from detox to a stable place where they’re ready to grow and change through PHP and IOP. Before someone suffering from substance use disorder can begin to move forward, we believe they must first make sure their feet are planted firmly on the ground. While our Detox Program gets client’s physically and mentally ready for treatment, Inpatient Treatment is where they start to build their recovery toolkit.
What Can You Expect from Our Denver Residential Inpatient Treatment?
Our Inpatient Drug Rehab in Denver CO is a structured, intensive program that removes client access to the outside world. By limiting distractions during treatment in our Inpatient facility, clients have a chance to focus on themselves, learn to better understand the source of their addiction, and identify the skills needed to continue with recovery outside of daily treatment.
While our Residential Drug Treatment follows a general structure, the day-to-day can look different for each client. We design our treatment around the individual’s specific addiction, taking co-occurring disorders, physical health, experience with treatment, and other needs into account.
Our facility is a coed facility meaning the milieu at any given time is mixed with both male, female, or non binary patients. RRRC also does offer accommodations to LGBTQ community and strives to promote a safe space for all persons who have a desire to recover from drugs and alcohol. The living quarters are completely safe and comfortable.
Our average length of stay is typically 14-30 days.
Serene, Comfortable Inpatient Accommodations
One of the most important things we can offer our clients, that they often can’t find in their day-to-day lives, is a structured space to recover. Our medically-monitored living quarters comes with the amenities, shared living spaces, community, and proximity to treatment facilities that our clients need to truly focus on their self-improvement.
In addition to the living quarters we also offer recreational activities. On our campus there is a rec room with a ping pong table and TV, a gym with exercise equipment, outdoor basketball hoops, sand volleyball court, a gazebo with a view as well as walking trails.
We provide prepared meals and laundry services so our clients can put as much of their energy into their recovery as possible.
Types of Therapy
In InpatientTreatment programming, our clients focus on coping with their rehabilitation and understanding their addiction through therapy. During therapy in our Residential Treatment Program, our clients engage deeply with their addiction, sometimes for the first time in their lives. In therapy, clients dig deeper to identify, and start to address, the root causes of their substance use disorder. They develop healthier and more sustainable coping mechanisms, and learn to handle and avoid triggers to make them more manageable. If the client has a co-occurring disorder, they come to understand both the addiction and mental illness involved, and how they feed into each other.
Therapy is primarily group based, and patients attend group therapy sessions throughout the day. The power of group therapy is shared lessons and experiences that can help the whole to move forward. Here, we also begin our introduction to tools such as the 12-Steps, which we adapt to each client’s case and beliefs, and use to as one pathway in the recovery progress. Throughout these therapies, clients work to find the self-love, self-knowledge, and self-worth that will benefit their recovery for the rest of their lives.
Family Involvement
We also try to integrate family group meetings during the early stages of rehabilitation, because this additional level of support can make a huge difference in a client’s comfort and progress. Not all clients have supportive families, but for those who do, having family nearby can help ease the transition along different levels of care.
That’s why we integrate family into our InpatientTreatment Program as much as we feel can be productive (and so long as our clients consent to it). Residential Drug Treatment limits exposure to the outside world overall, but we allow close friends and family to start building a strong, outside support network as early as possible.
Wellness Programming
Our wellness programming will differ from client to client as we customize our care to their needs. Throughout the day, clients will participate in:
- Group work
- Case Management
- Fitness and wellness training
- Psychoeducation
- Various holistic therapies
- Community engagement in controlled environments
Throughout these treatments, therapies, and optional activities, clients are kept busy and get to see just how much they can accomplish through programming at Red Rock Recovery.
