At Red Rock Recovery, we offer treatment for kratom substance use disorder. In our center in Lakewood, near Denver Colorado, we combine evidence-based therapies with Medication-Assisted Treatment and holistic activities to achieve long-term healing.
Kratom and its derivative, 7-OH, are not FDA approved. While not an opiate, kratom has opioid-like properties because its active compounds bind to the same receptors in the brain as opioids like morphine. Kratom is commonly sold as a supplement and can be addictive.
Our kratom addiction treatment includes Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) to reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms. MAT can be part of a residential or outpatient program and is carried out in a safe setting that meets high clinical standards.
Alongside MAT, we use evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to address the root causes of addiction. These therapies also help prevent relapse and build essential coping mechanisms for sobriety.
Our rehab center is a distraction-free, nurturing environment. We curate a space to focus on feeling better and building skills that support a higher quality of living. We also offer a range of holistic activities to improve physical and mental health.
We have various personalized programs that can treat kratom addiction depending on your needs.
Safely withdraw from kratom with our dedicated team.
Manage withdrawal symptoms with appropriate medications. Offered as part of other programs.
Stay at our residences while receiving tailored care for kratom addiction.
A substance-free living environment to support sobriety.
Live at home but attend therapy and MAT sessions at our center.
Comprehensive treatment for addiction and a co-occurring mental health disorder.
Detecting kratom addiction can be difficult, but symptoms include:
We accept insurance from most commercial health insurance providers. Call our admissions team to verify your benefits and confirm that treatment for kratom addiction is covered. We can provide a financial breakdown and suggest alternative payment options if required.
We know that recovery doesn’t happen in a silo; it requires shared, consistent support. We help individuals to build and maintain community. Our programs include family and group therapy, as well as peer activities to connect people suffering from addiction.
There’s no one size fits all for our addiction programs. We customize all programs to each person, ensuring that individual needs are met. After the first call, we work with each individual to create their unique treatment plan.
Recovery isn’t just overcoming addiction. The physical, emotional, spiritual, and social elements of health matter. We nurture these through holistic activities such as mindfulness and yoga. We help individuals see themselves in a different way that isn’t governed by addiction.
Addiction doesn’t need to define you. Red Rock Recovery is a professional, empathetic, and nonjudgmental place to heal. Our team operates with compassion and is committed to helping you lead you the life that you deserve. Take the first step to sobriety with us.
Kratom has 22 times the binding affinity of morphine to opioid receptors in the brain. Kratom is not FDA-approved. Products that contain kratom do not have to specify where or how they are made, nor what quantity of kratom and mixture of other substances they have. Because kratom is not regulated, it’s difficult to say how many people are addicted to it, but estimates suggest as many as 10 to 15 million people.
At Red Rock Recovery, we use a combination of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), evidence-based therapies, and holistic activities to treat kratom addiction. MAT reduces cravings and withdrawal symptoms, therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) can address the root causes of addiction, and holistic activities support improved physical and mental health. All treatment is tailored to individuals’ needs.
The long-term side effects of kratom can include psychosis, coma, heart attack, and rhabdomyolysis (a rare muscle injury that causes muscles to break down). With prolonged use, kratom is addictive. Signs of addiction include cravings, irritability between use, sweating and chills between use, needing a higher dose to achieve the same effect, and spending time and money to get kratom.
Yes, kratom use can lead to withdrawal symptoms. These include nausea, muscle aches, loss of appetite, vomiting, mood changes, and hot flushes. Higher doses and more frequent use of kratom can lead to more withdrawal symptoms with greater severity. Medication-Assisted Treatment can help alleviate withdrawal symptoms as part of a broader recovery treatment program.
Yes, people go to rehab for kratom. People who already have a substance use disorder are more likely to develop a kratom addiction. Rehabilitation centers provide care to manage withdrawal symptoms, reduce cravings, address the root causes of addiction, and build skills to sustain recovery.

Red Rock Recovery Center was a beacon of hope during one of the darkest times in my life. From the moment I arrived, the staff treated me with compassion, respect, and unwavering support. They truly understood what I was going through and provided not just a place to heal, but the tools and guidance I needed to rebuild my life.
The program at RRR is structured yet deeply personal, offering a balance of therapy, education, and community that made all the difference in my recovery. They didn’t just help me get sober—they helped me rediscover myself, build resilience, and develop the confidence to move forward.
Now, a year later, I’m beyond grateful for the life I have today, and I owe so much of that to Red Rock Recovery Center. If you or a loved one is struggling and looking for a place that truly cares, I can’t recommend RRR highly enough. They don’t just offer treatment—they offer hope, healing, and a future worth fighting for.

I am grateful for Red Rock Recovery Center. My experience into the world of recovery was with much apprehension. The staff at the inpatient facility, though PHP and IOP were extremely understanding and helpful while I came to a real understanding of what addiction is and how it has affected my life.
If you are reading this for yourself or a loved one I can relate. I looked for every reason why I didn’t need recovery. I thought I could manage addiction on my own. With every reason I could imagine why I didn’t belong there were 10 reasons why I did.
The community of friends I have met through therapy and groups that RRRC supports outside of therapy are incredible.
The pressure of coming back to life after addiction has been low stress with so many fun activities.
I highly rate RRRC as a friendly, helpful and effective treatment center.

Nothing is like Red Rock. It was the best choice I’ve ever made regarding my addiction & recovery. Caring, professional staff (many whom are in long term recovery themselves and understand), comprehensive program, group & 1 on 1 therapy, and activities like yoga, hiking, and gym in a comfortable atmosphere in the beautiful, nature-filled Morrson/Conifer area. There 4 stage program changed my life. Detox, residential treatment, PHP, & IOP. And then there’s the excellent alumni program with tons of support through meetings, events & activities. If you’re committed to fighting an addiction, this is the place to go.

This program saved my life and every day gives me the tools and resources to make it a life I want to live. Words fall far too short of the gratitude I have for this program and everything they have done for me. So many resources, spectacular staff, refreshingly authentic care and love in this program. I’ve never felt so supported and secure and safe. From my first phone call on through to the present, it’s been nothing but exceptional. My sanctuary, my recovery cocoon and somewhere I’ll feel at home throughout my recovery journey and life. I feel confident now that my recovery and future has begun. A life of freedom and opportunity. I was hopeless, discouraged and desperate. I never have to feel that way again. Thank you RRRC~ FOREVER GRATEFUL

RRRC is an incredible rehab facility. I received amazing care all the way from in patient to outpatient treatment. All of the staff and nurses were so kind and understanding and willing to help with anything that I needed. The therapists were also very helpful and provided great insight into our sessions and were incredibly knowledgeable. RRRC really helped me to regain control over my life and be able to find a new path and direction to head into. I could not recommend this facility enough and the amazing staff you get to meet and work with. I had a really great experience with them!

Red Rock Recovery Center is so much more than an addiction treatment program. This program and the incredible staff have allowed me to find a sense of purpose and a tight knit community. The skills and coping mechanisms taught during group therapy are so vital to my recovery and I continue to use them every day outside of treatment. The staff provided constant support and guidance every step of the way and continue to even after completing the program. Their unwavering support, deep knowledge, and compassion made the daunting journey of sobriety feel genuinely achievable and worthwhile. The uncertainty on the road to recovery can be overwhelming and may seem unfeasible at first. For anyone who is struggling with these fears and looking for some semblance of hope and meaningful connections this is your place.
